Kari has been working at VCA Farmington Hills since September 2024. She returned to general practice after spending almost 10 years in specialty and emergency medicine, with a heavy focus on surgery and anesthesia. She started her veterinary technician career in 2011 after graduating from Wayne County Community College with an Associate of Applied Science degree. Kari obtained the title of Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner in October of 2024 from the International Veterinary Academy of Veterinary Pain Management. She is also Fear Free Certified.
Her professional interests include high-risk/critical anesthesia, pain management for palliative care patients, and teaching. She loves to pass on her years of experience to others in the field.
When Kari isn't working, she loves to read, write, travel, and sing karaoke. At home, she has a partner (Chuck), a cat (Digit), a bird (King Zeebo III), and two snakes (Flit and Glitch).
