Staff Veterinarian DVM
We are so excited that Dr. Carina Hopper has joined out VCA Kingwood family!! Dr. Hopper was passionate about becoming a veterinarian at a young age in elementary school and decided to pursue her dream. Born and raised in Laredo, TX, she left her hometown to attend Texas A&M and received her Bachelor's in Animal Science with a business minor in May, 2013. She further pursed her education and received a Master's in Veterinary Public Health with a focus in Epidemiology in May, 2015, while also working part time at the Texas A&M University teaching hospital, where she gained valuable experience. Dr. Hopper graduated with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Texas A&M University in May, 2021. During her time at Texas A&M, Dr. Hopper took on many different leadership positions in several clubs and organizations. She served as vice president of the student veterinary response team and the anesthesia club.

Dr. Hopper has a passion for surgery and internal medicine. She also has an interest in anesthesia and emergency medicine. While not dedicating her time to the health and well-being of her patients, Dr. Hopper enjoys traveling with her husband, playing tennis, watching Texas A&M football, and having backyard BBQs with friends.

Dr. Hopper is married to her husband, Joseph Hopper, and they are the proud parents of two dogs, Tyson and Ginger, both Chihuahua breeds. They both also enjoy caring for their aquatic habitat that houses multiple species of African Cichlids.

Dr. Hopper is bilingual in English and Spanish.
