Dr. Karalyn Young found her calling to veterinary medicine while caring for injured coastal wildlife in Southern California. She attended Brown University and received her Bachelor of Science with Honors in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology in 2006. She continued her education at Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, receiving her doctorate in 2010. Following graduation, she completed a one-year, rotating, small animal internship at New England Animal Medical Center that comprised of Emergency and Critical Care, Surgery, Internal Medicine, and General Practice rotations. Krystal is an Arizona native with over 20 years of experience in the veterinary industry, having worked in a variety of roles, including client services, credentialed veterinary technician, and management. She also holds a Certification in Human Resource Management. In 2021, she and her husband relocated to Oregon to be closer to family and enjoy the region's beautiful climate and outdoor lifestyle.
