Dave was born in Rhode Island but has lived in Northern Virginia for 30 + years now. He currently cares for a German Shepherd, a Springer Spaniel, three Dachsunds, two cats, two guinea pigs, a Goffin Cockatoo, four snakes and a handful of salt water fish. (yes, he has kids, too!) Besides working in an animal hospital, he and his wife own an animal clinic in Fredericksburg, Virginia. One of his favorite pastimes is to chauffeur for his daughter. He also enjoys biking, fishing, photography and big guns. Dave thought of becoming a Veterinarian and after moving to Northern Virginia in 1979, the family poodle, Bluch, got sick and his family found themselves at VCA Alexandria Animal Hospital. Unfortunately, the news was not good and Bluch was put to sleep. He always remembered how the late Dr. Hawe and staff treated them during that difficult time. So in 1986, he got a job as an assistant at VCA Alexandria Animal Hospital, moved up through the ranks to administration and has been here ever since. He is our facilities manager and safety coordinator. He keeps this hospital running smooth and makes sure we are top notch.
