Dermatology

In Texas, we see skin issues and allergies year round. If your pet is itching more than usual, has hair loss, scabs, rashes or irritation of the skin please let us know! Our veterinarians will perform a detailed history, physical examination and basic medical diagnostics in order to diagnose and treat many skin ailments as part of our dermatology services. Common diagnostics performed include skin scrapings, Wood's Lamp examination, hair (fungal) culture, and punch biopsies.

We may prescribe a prescription diet, topical medication or oral medication to help your pet’s skin. If your veterinarian feels your pet has a specific disease or injury requiring more advanced care or if they have not responded to therapy in an expected manner, they may refer you to a veterinary dermatologist for further evaluation.
