Rachel Boltz

Staff Veterinarian

MS, DVM, DABVP, cVMA

Dr. Boltz is a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Feline Practice (DABVP), originally credentialed in 2009 and re-credentialed in 2019. She is also certified in veterinary medical acupuncture (cVMA).

In 2008, she was awarded the National Winner of the Thank Your Vet For A Healthy Pet contest as Best Veterinarian in America. She is a past Don-Low Practitioner Fellow (2008-2009) in Small Animal Internal Medicine at the University of California, Davis College of Veterinary Medicine, and received a Certificate of Achievement in Hemodialysis from the same institution years later (2015-2016).

Dr. Boltz has pursued advanced training in diagnostic ultrasound (abdominal, thoracic/cardiac, FASTVetR); soft tissue and orthopedic surgical procedures; and diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, rhinoscopy, cystoscopy, and bronchoscopy.

She has a special interest in the medical and surgical management of hyperthyroid feline patients, geriatric medicine in general, and complex medical management.

In her spare time, Dr. Boltz brushes her menagerie of cats (a never-ending, thankless task).

The cat in the photo is a Himalayan Persian, who has been her close friend for over 14 years.
