Dr. Marcelo Gentinetta was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. After his family moved to New Orleans in 1979, he attended Holy Cross High School. During that time he worked as a kennel attendant and later veterinary technician at Causeway Animal Hospital. After attending undergraduate studies at the Univeristy of New Orleans, he was accepted to the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine and received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.

Since then, Dr. Gentinetta has practiced small animal medicine and surgery not only at Causeway Animal Hospital, but also on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, the Northshore and on the Westbank.

"I really can't imagine being in any other profession that Veterinary Medicine. To me, it is a great privilege to be able to care for all these wonderful animals that are so noble and give us so much in return."
