Associate Veterinarian
DVM
Dr. Chen grew up in Southern California in the San Gabriel Valley and moved to Irvine for college, where he attended UC Irvine and received a degree in Biological Sciences and in Cognitive Psychology. He made his decision to go into the veterinary field during his last year at UCI and started out as a kennel attendant at IBAH, went back to school and received his RVT license at Stanbridge University, then worked for 2 years at the Irvine Animal Care Center before going to Western University of Health Sciences for his veterinarian degree. After graduating in 2022, Dr. Chen started back at VCA IBAH as an associate veterinarian. He takes a special interest in shelter medicine and wildlife rehabilitation, but still loves working with and teaching clients. When he's not treating your pets, you can probably find him rock climbing, playing video games, or painting. Much to the disappointment of his parents, he does not speak fluent Chinese.
