Caterine Wendt, Staff Veterinarian
Caterine Wendt received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2009 from the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia. She also completed her bachelor's with double majors in Biology and Spanish at UGA in 2005. Dr. Wendt is a native Brazilian and was born and raised in Brazil until her family moved to Florida for a better life when she was 7 years old. She speaks fluent Portuguese and Spanish (for any client that needs the services of a tri-lingual doctor). Her medical interests include behavior, internal medicine, dermatology, dentistry, and surgery. Dr. Wendt is an avid traveler and a Harry Potter fan and her favorite thing to do is to go to theme parks.
Her furry family members include a cat named Bisca, which means naughty in Portuguese, and two dogs Athena and Shelby that she got during Veterinary School. Athena is a collie mix and was named after the city of Athens, GA where Dr. Wendt spent 8 years studying to become a Vet. Her other dog "Shelby" is a blue merle Sheltie and she would have given her a more regal name but her nephew really wanted to name her because Shelby rhymes with Sheltie- and you just can't say No to an adorable nephew. "CocoNUT" is a white cat and is the newest addition to the family and her name is written that way because she is crazy.
Dr. Wendt is passionate about providing the best quality care to all her patients and to providing education to her clients. She prioritizes a more personal experience for the client and their pet and wants to be your lifetime Veterinarian and friend. We are lucky to have her at VCA Little Animal Hospital since 2017
