Dr. Carothers was born in the United States but moved to Europe with her family when she was four. She returned to the country when she was sixteen and graduated from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1992 before completing a 1 year veterinary internship at VCA Newark Animal Hospital. She's been taking great care of our clients and their pets here ever since.

When she's not hard at work in the hospital, Dr. Carothers enjoys spending time with her husband, Erik, and two sons, Joshua and Gavin. She also enjoys riding her horse, Snickers, hiking and scuba diving.
