Dr. Gintz is a Washington native. He has lived all of his life in Washington, he grew up on a farm in Western Washington and was in 4-H and showed Cattle, Dogs and Horses. He received his Bachelors degrees in Chemistry, Bacteriology/ Virology and Public Health from WSU in 1978 and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1982. He was appointed by the Governor to serve a 5 year term on the Board of Governors for Washington. Dr. Gintz serves his profession by mentoring Veterinarians and working with Veterinary colleges and the externship program. He performs many pro bono and discounted orthopedic procedures for the Tacoma Pierce County Humane Society. Dr. Gintz's areas of focus are orthopedic surgery, soft tissue surgery, cancer surgery and treatment. He enjoys jogging, bicycling and food. His passion is fishing combined with wilderness boating and rafting. He has 3 dogs and 1 cat. His dogs like boating but unfortunately his cat does not.
