Dr. Sophia Scheer is an associate veterinarian who joined our team in 2025. She obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee in 2021. She went to Purdue University's School of Veterinary Medicine, where she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.
Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, Dr. Scheer has a deep passion for building strong relationships with her clients and patients. She believes in establishing trust and providing compassionate care, which makes her a great fit for our hospital's values. Her professional special interests include internal medicine and neurology, where she continuously seeks to expand her knowledge and expertise.
Outside of work, Dr. Scheer loves to bake and is always up for a new podcast. She enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, traveling back to the Midwest to visit family, and taking her yellow lab, Morrie, on adventures. Dr. Scheer is also an avid fan of the University of Tennessee football—Go Vols!
Dr. Scheer shares her home with Morrie and Buddy, her 15-year-old Maltese. She is dedicated to offering the best care possible to every pet she meets, ensuring their health and well-being are always a top priority.
