Our History
In 1982, Dr. Dean J. Cerf, Hospital Director, continued the tradition of the VCA Ridgewood Veterinary Hospital, after its original establishment 150 years ago by the Hopper family of Ridgewood. Dr. Cerf has since developed the VCA Ridgewood Veterinary Hospital into one of the most advanced and respected veterinary hospitals in New Jersey. He has grown the hospital into a six doctor practice. The skilled support staff has grown from three people to over fifty caring professionals, who complete a rigorous training program consisting of oral, written and practical exams, as well as participation in continuing education programs.
We harness the scale and strength of our global network while acknowledging each individual's contribution. We work locally to improve the lives of all who interact with our brand.
