Kris Hallden
Staff Veterinarian DVM

A 1993 UC Davis DVM graduate, Dr. Kris Hallden joined the Salem practice in 2000, relocating from Klamath Falls, Oregon where she was active with wild raptor rehabilitation. She grew up in the Los Angeles suburbs, and graduated with honors in Animal Science from Cornell University.

Dr. Hallden loves general practice, and supporting the human-animal bond is ultimately what her career is all about. Dr. Hallden engages in relationship based medicine, involving the family in medical decision making. Integrating western medicine and acupuncture, palliative and preventative care are among her professional interests. She enjoys dentistry and soft tissue surgery and is active in the Marion Polk Veterinary Association.

Her family includes husband Marc, daughters Rachel and Megan, Kelev the Golden Retriever, Moe and Joe, the remarkably food motivated brotherhood of cats, and Henry the corn snake. Kris appreciates living in an area surrounded by outdoor access, wonderful food, wine and fine microbrews. Outside of VCA you may find Kris on a food adventure, appreciating live music or sipping an IPA with Marc and friends.
