Melissa Wood, Associate Veterinarian

Originally from Southern California, Melissa Wood relocated to Oregon, for school, and fell in love with the area. Dr. Wood graduated from Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. She began working, as a relief doctor, for VCA Salem Animal Hospital in 2011 and accepted a permanent position with our team, in 2014. Dr. Wood is interested in internal medicine cases, animal behavior, and the care of geriatric pets. She also has a special interest in providing care for pocket pets (hamsters, guinea pigs, mice). When she is away from work, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and son. She also enjoys historic buildings and has spent the last 4 years restoring her century old home. She loves reading, gardening, yoga, and her geriatric, special needs cat named Sampson.
