Happy birthday! Your pet turned another year old, and no doubt you’re wondering what milestones they would be celebrating if they were a person. Would they be driving yet? Getting their first job? Becoming grandparents?

 

Knowing your cat’s age in human years puts a lot of things in perspective. Behavior, health, nutrition—all that and more starts making sense when you think about your pet’s age like you do your own.

Calculating their relative age can get a bit tricky, though. Not only is it a little more complicated than simply multiplying by seven, but your cat’s size can shift the whole equation! So we decided to make it easy with this handy-dandy chart.
