Dr. Rachel Mensing was born and raised in Bakersfield, CA. She has always had a passion for animals and got to grow up with an interesting bunch of creatures including a desert tortoise, frogs, hermit crabs, and fish. She completed her undergraduate degree in biology at California State University Bakersfield where her passion for veterinary medicine grew. After undergrad, she attended Midwestern University in Phoenix, AZ, for her doctorate degree in veterinary medicine. Her professional interests include soft tissue surgery, feline medicine, and internal medicine. She holds certificates in both Fear Free handling and Rescue CPR. Her favorite part of working in veterinary medicine is creating relationships with both her patients and clients. Outside of work, Dr. Mensing enjoys running and has ran four marathons, hiking, brunch, traveling, and spending time with her husband and seven pets which includes three blind cats, two big orange cats, and two dogs.
