Dr. Abigail Ohnesorge is a native Texan who grew up in Cypress, Texas. She attributes her deep-seated love and compassion for animals to her mom, who always took the time to rescue and care for the local wildlife when they needed a helping hand. Whether it was a baby squirrel who fell from its nest or a bird who inadvertently flew into a window, witnessing and participating in their rehabilitation really shaped her future of wanting to help animals.
She moved to Stephenville, Texas to complete her undergraduate degree in animal science at Tarleton State University. Her next move took her on a big adventure to St. Kitts, where she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University of Veterinary Medicine. Here she encountered all sorts of new wildlife, including poisonous centipedes, scorpions and tarantulas. (Be sure to ask her about the time her family asked to visit her!)
Dr. Ohnesorge's special interests include dentistry, nutrition, and preventative medicine. Recognizing the importance of these building blocks for the lifelong health of the patients she sees, Dr. Ohnesorge is passionate about education. Not only will she take the time to listen to and address your concerns, she will also partner with you to make sure that you and your pet have a long and healthy life together.
In her spare time Dr. Ohnesorge enjoys spending time with her family and fur babies, traveling, cooking and weightlifting.
