Dr. Bethan Nitzsche has known she wanted to be a veterinarian since she was a child. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin–Madison College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005, she began her career at Midwest Exotic Animal Hospital & ER in Chicago before making Southern California her home.
For more than 15 years, Dr. Nitzsche has cared for pets and families in the High Desert community through VCA Yucca Valley Animal Hospital. As Medical Director, she is passionate about providing exceptional care, supporting her veterinary team, and helping pets live longer, healthier lives. She also helped introduce the hospital's Urgent Care service, making it easier for local pets to receive timely medical attention when they need it most.
Dr. Nitzsche enjoys caring for both traditional and exotic pets and has special interests in preventive care, internal medicine, and advanced diagnostics. She is continuing her education in ultrasound and other advanced medical procedures to bring the latest veterinary care options to the pets and families she serves.
