Do all ticks transmit Lyme disease?

Did you know that ticks can latch onto your dog for days without them noticing? While not all species of ticks can spread Lyme disease, the ticks that do are found all across North America. The main culprits are black-legged ticks, also known as deer ticks, and western black-legged ticks. Unfortunately, many other tick species come with their own threats of disease transmission to pets, so keeping your dog free of ticks is key. Always check your dog for ticks after outdoor adventures and remove them promptly.
