Dr. Kobashigawa received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in General Biology. After graduation she worked in human medical research at UC San Francisco Department of Medicine. Then she received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of California, Davis.

After graduation from UC Davis, Dr. Kobashigawa obtained additional training as an intern at the California Animal Hospital, in the Department of Surgery and Emergency. Jessica attended and graduated from Platt College in 2015 with a degree in Veterinary Technology. She begun her journey with VCA A Breed Apart in October 2016 and had previously worked at Veterinary Angels Medical Center in Agoura Hills. She currently calls Whittier home and lives with a house full of pets including two pit bulls, Baloo, who 4 years old, and Nike, who is 7 years old, as well as Rocky, an 8 year old Alaskan husky, Juju, a 7 year old pastel python, and Olive, a 2 year old guinea pig. Lastly, a little known fact about Jessica is that she is a professional Polynesian Dancer.
