DVM

Dr. Bernstein is extremely passionate about improving the health care of animals both in the United States and abroad. He graduated from Duke University with a major in Neuroscience and minors in Economics and Psychology. He then attended the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, which is ranked as the top veterinary school in the world. After graduating, he completed a one-year rotating internship in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. Following this, he undertook a specialty internship in small animal surgery at the Las Vegas Veterinary Specialty Center, focusing primarily on complex soft tissue, orthopedic, and neurological procedures. While his main interests are in small animal medicine (particularly dogs and cats), he also has a strong passion for exotic animal medicine.

In his free time, Dr. Bernstein loves doing conservation work or helping in underserved communities around the world. He has accumulated hands-on experience in locations including South Africa, Botswana, Nicaragua, Mexico, the Galápagos Islands, the Caribbean, and the Okavango Delta. He also enjoys playing sports, hiking, hanging out at the beach, at the gym, or recharging his batteries with his golden retriever, Duma.
