Dr. Biegen is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine specializing in neurology and neurosurgery. She received her undergraduate degree from New York University, where she majored in biology and minored in Spanish. Veterinary school took Dr. Biegen to California, where she attended Western University of Health Sciences College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2011. Dr. Biegen completed both her rotating internship and her neurology residency at The Animal Medical Center in New York. Following residency, she established the first ever neurology/neurosurgery service at VCA Animal Specialty Group in San Diego where she remains today. When Dr. Biegen is not in the hospital, she provides TeleHealth consultations to general and emergency practitioners working in areas that are under-served by specialists as a team member with Hope Veterinary Specialty Services and Veterinary Specialists on Demand. Her special interests include metabolic encephalopathies, infectious disease, and neuroimaging.
Outside of the hospital, she enjoys playing volleyball, reading, going to the beach, skiing, and spending time with her children.
