Dr. Sally Slomer-Fickes has been the Medical Director at VCA Ashford since arriving in 2000 and has grown up in the Houston community. Her early interest in veterinary medicine became proactive when she began working as a veterinary assistant in high school at the age of 15. After graduating from veterinary School at Texas A&M, she owned a practice until selling it to VCA. Dr. Slomer has served the veterinary profession on the Harris County Veterinary Association board of directors, and she is a member of the Texas Veterinary Medical Association as well as the American Veterinary Medical Association. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and playing with her grandson. She also has a Brittany spaniel, a Black Labrador, and three spoiled cats that keep her entertained.
