Karissa has been a Veterinary Assistant with VCA Centreville Animal Hospital since 2016. Karissa is currently studying to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician through Penn Foster. Karissa has held various roles, and has been working in the veterinary field for 7 years within the Northern Virginia area. She now lives in Fairfax with her boyfriend and 2 cats (Ellie and Little), spending her spare time learning to play keyboard and eventually other instruments as well. She enjoys supporting the NOVA local music and arts community.

A quote that has always stuck with me and reminds me of the veterinary field is "a jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one." I get to help animals, their people, and the community in general while gaining a variety of life and medical skills.
