Dr. Catherine Betts graduated from Bard College in Annandale on Hudson, NY with a degree in Biology. From there, she went to graduate school with a full scholarship studying Molecular Biology and genetics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine at the Sue Golden Graduate Division of Biomedical Sciences in the Bronx. After 2 years, Dr. Betts attended Ross's school of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 1989. In her travels, Dr. Betts has practiced in many states and environments. She has been practicing veterinary medicine for 32 years and joined the Chiquita team in 2018.

Dr. Betts has a loving husband who is an artist and has a sprawling pet family of 4 cats and 4 dogs. In her free time, she can be found on one of her two thoroughbred horses training for competition. This renaissance woman also enjoys reading, kayaking, biking, fishing, and staying active.
