Dr. Shavaughn Snipas was born and raised on Long Island. She knew she wanted to be a veterinarian from a very young age when she fell in love with the horses and farm animals at Rocking Horse Ranch–a horse ranch resort that she would attend with her family nearly every summer. She received her Bachelor of Science from Fordham University and then went on to graduate from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. She has been in general practice ever since and has special interests in Internal Medicine and Dermatology. Dr. Snipas joined VCA Commack Animal hospital in September 2024. When she is not working, Dr. Snipas enjoys spending time with her family– including her husband, two children, and her yellow Labrador, Finnegan. She also loves to bake, watch hockey, attend spin classes, and travel.
