Dr. Tracy Wright grew up in England but moved to the USA following completion of her BSC (Hons) in Genetics and PhD in Molecular Biology. Following several years in New Mexico and Utah doing research into the genetics of human disease, she returned home to complete her Veterinary Degree in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Following graduation she began practicing as a mixed practice vet, enjoying the varied aspects of horses, alpacas, goats, sheep as well as cats and dogs. She joined VCA Cottonwood Animal Hospital as a veterinarian in 2011, returning to the clinic where she spent many hours as an extern prior to, and during, vet school. She enjoys the problem solving aspects of veterinary medicine and has a particular interest in internal medicine and surgery.
When she isn’t working, Dr. Wright enjoys travelling to far and wide venues and hopes to return to some of them doing volunteer veterinary work. Closer to home, she enjoys hiking, running, skiing and camping. She shares her life with her partner, Marty, and their cat, G.
