Dr. Sarah Guest returned to her hometown of Marcellus, NY after completing her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University in 2010. She received a Bachelor’s in Animal Science from the University of Vermont in 2005 and studied at and played Division One Volleyball for the Long Island University Blackbirds in Brooklyn, NY from 2001-2003.

Dr. Guest joined the team at Fairmount Animal Hospital in 2010. She believes that best patient care is achieved by a collaborative approach to medicine; strong doctor/client communication is key to providing care that is both quality and tailored to meet the needs of each individual patient. Her professional interests include internal medicine, ophthalmology, and the complexities involved with large and giant breed dog care. She especially enjoys the more complex internal medicine cases, whereby long-standing relationships are formed with her patients and clients as they work together to treat chronic illnesses with an emphasis on quality of life.

Outside of work, Dr. Guest enjoys spending time with her daughters, Sayla and Malin, working on house projects with her husband, Nate VanDeusen, hiking with her Bernese Mountain Dog, Madoc, practicing yoga, gardening, boating, and spending time with her close-knit family and friends.
