Dr. Rachel Intravartola is an Associate Veterinarian at VCA Iselin Animal Hospital in Iselin, New Jersey. A lifelong love of animals and a passion for helping them live healthier, happier lives led her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine.
Originally from Helmetta, New Jersey, Dr. Intravartola's interest in animal care began at an early age. Her father worked as an animal control officer, and she grew up caring for animals in their home before they transitioned to shelter care. This experience sparked her interest in animal husbandry and ultimately inspired her to volunteer at a veterinary clinic, where she discovered a passion for the medical side of animal care. She went on to work in small animal practice for several years before pursuing her veterinary degree.
Dr. Intravartola earned her undergraduate degree in Animal Science from Rutgers University in 2022 and received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2026. She is also Fear Free Certified, reflecting her commitment to creating a more comfortable and positive experience for both pets and their families.
Her professional interests include diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, and cardiology. Dr. Intravartola believes every pet is an individual and strives to be their advocate while working collaboratively with clients to develop medical plans that are both personalized and beneficial for each patient.
What she enjoys most about veterinary medicine is experiencing the unique human-animal bond with every family she meets. She values building trust with clients and developing meaningful relationships through their pet's medical care.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Intravartola enjoys embroidery, reading fiction novels, and crafting. She also loves spending time with her three cats, Finn, Obi-Wan, and Renfield.
