Dr. O'Brien has called a few regions home over the years including Maine, New York and Ohio. She moved to the Durham area after graduating from Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in Grafton, Massachusetts in 2022. Prior to veterinary school she attended the University of Akron where she majored in Natural Sciences. While in veterinary school she worked as a student technician in the emergency and surgery departments and helped to establish a student-based community medicine program. Some of her interests in the field include internal medicine, feline medicine, preventative care and senior pet care. She is excited to be a part of the VCA Legion Road team working to provide the best care for pets in the community. 

Outside the hospital, Dr. O'Brien enjoys family trips to the beach, reading, finding new restaurants and hanging out with her always dressed for the occasion tuxedo cat, Binx, and her handsome pup, Murray Brilliant.
