Dr. Field, Staff Veterinarian

DVM

Dr. Field is a Rhode Island native and she is excited to begin her career as a Veterinarian in Massachusetts. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Animal Science from the University of Rhode Island, then spent a few years working as a veterinary technician prior to graduating from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts.

While in veterinary school she was active in many clubs, some of which offered discounted or free veterinary care to the local community. These programs also provided client communication opportunities to teach the community about proper animal care and welfare. Community outreach and teaching is an important aspect of veterinary medicine for Dr. Field. She wants to involve owners when caring for their pets and engage them during their visits, ensuring pet owners are comfortable with continuing at home care if necessary. She also earned her certification in fear free and reduced stress handling while at Ross University. She says helping animals to feel safe and stress free during their visits can give owners the peace of mind that their pet is comfortable going to the veterinarian and it is a less stressful experience overall.

Dr. Field has many passions in and out of the hospital. One of her work passions is surgery, during her clinical year of schooling she attended the Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine for clinical training. She enjoyed working with surgery patients and learning new techniques and procedures. She also has a passion for her two cats, Finn and Rey, which she adopted while in Kansas.

She can also be found doting on her family's golden retriever Kaia whenever she is home for a visit. Outside of the hospital she hikes, kayaks and paddleboards, a few hobbies that she enjoyed while studying in St. Kitts and continues to appreciate in the North East.
