Dr. Metzger founded the hospital December 7, 1992, after completing his undergrad at Penn State and DVM from Purdue. Dr. Metzger is also a MRCVS-Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, Diplomate ABVP (American Board of Veterinary Practitioners), and Adjunct Professor at Penn State. After 33 years here at the hospital, he's been with us longer than some of our staff have been alive!
Born and raised here in State College, he spends most of his time teaching the next generation of veterinarians and conducting research into clinical pathology to better our understanding of disease processes. When not teaching or working on his research, you can find him and his wife Megan at their daughter's sporting events or jamming out on the drums.
