Andi Tseng
Staff Veterinarian DVM, cVMA
Dr. Andi Tseng was born and raised in Taiwan. As a daughter of a veterinarian, she grew up with dogs and cats most of her life. Her childhood playground was her father's veterinary clinic. Dr. Andi obtained her veterinary medicine degree from National Pintung University of Science and Technology (NPUST) in 2004. She was the Chief Editor of the school newsletter, represented NPUST as an honor student visiting sister school Washington State University in 2000 and Shen Zhen Polytechnic in China in 2001. Dr. Andi also completed an externship at Taipei Zoo.

Dr. Andi worked with her father and younger brother, whom also is a veterinarian, for a couple of years before she moved to the US in 2009. Dr. Andi worked as a technician before passing the ECFVG program and became licensed in the Unites States in 2013. During her year of clinical training at Louisiana State University, she was exposed to many specialty areas that she loves and decided to apply for an internship. After one year of internship at Veterinary Specialty Hospital, which brought her to San Diego, she realized general medicine gave her the opportunities of dive into all the fields she is passionate about and building relationships with the pet and the owners really made her happy about being a vet. With the fermentation of the sunshine and Pacific Ocean, it didn't take long for her to fall in love with SoCal. She soon became a veterinarian at a small but busy animal hospital in Encinitas for two years. She joined the VCA Mission Animal and Bird Hospital team in the end of 2016.

Dr. Andi is enthusiastic about attending continuing education, which keeps her updated with current veterinary medicine. She is passionate about general small animal medicine, surgery, preventative care medicine, and has a great interest in acupuncture. She obtained certification in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture (cVMA) in 2017.

Dr. Andi loves food, but is a terrible cook that has been proven by multiple attempts. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring new areas, trying different restaurants, beach walks, scenery hikes, Pilates, non-strenuous outdoor activities, and everything the nature has to offer. Puppy eyes, kitty biscuits, traveling, and good food enrich her soul. She is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Taiwanese.
