Amybeth Rice

Staff Veterinarian

DVM

Dr. Amybeth Rice earned her undergraduate degree from the College of Charleston, where she graduated with honors as a double major in marine biology and Spanish. She went on to complete her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005.

She thrives on the constant learning veterinary medicine provides and is passionate about helping pets and their families through urgent and often challenging situations. Her special interests in the field are emergency and critical care, having worked in emergency settings since 2006. Her favorite part of being a veterinarian is witnessing the human–animal bond in action every day and being a part of that connection.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Rice is an avid reader who always has a stack of books waiting to be opened. She loves to travel, explore new cultures, and experience the world through food as a self-described serious foodie.

At home, Dr. Rice shares her life with Piglet, her 11-year-old brindle French bulldog, and two handsome feline brothers, Grant and Bogart, who joined her family as senior adoptees.
