Dr. Elizabeth Egizio was born and raised in Plano, Texas. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Oklahoma State University in 2025. She knew at five years old that she wanted to be a vet and brings a lifelong passion for animals with her strong academic foundation, including a Bachelor of Science in Zoology. She began working for VCA in June 2025.
In addition to traditional veterinary medicine, Dr. Egizio has a growing interest in additive medical therapies such as laser therapy and acupuncture, which she values for their holistic benefits in healing and pain management. She is also USDA-accredited to issue domestic and international health certificates for traveling pets. Due to the growing concern about the spread of screwworm in the United States, she is also a certified screwworm inspector. While in veterinary school, she developed clinical strengths in internal medicine and pain management, gaining hands-on experience through rotations, community outreach, and externships—including two at VCA Preston Park.
Dr. Egizio views veterinary care as a true partnership—built on trust, open communication, and a shared commitment to helping pets live long, healthy, and fulfilling lives. She is known for forming genuine, lasting connections with both her patients and their families, and for tailoring her care to meet the unique needs of every animal. Her favorite part of her work includes helping our clients understand their pets' needs and our team.
Outside the hospital, Dr. Egizio enjoys singing, reading, playing volleyball, practicing Zumba, and spending time with her three beloved pets—Buttons, Mushroom, and Tonks—who keep her life full of joy, energy, and a little bit of mischief. If she could be an animal, she would want to be a house cat and lie around all day. Her favorite inspirational quote is, "Know your worth, and demand three times that."
