Allyn

Veterinary Assistant

Allyn grew up in Alabama, and she earned her BS in biology with a minor in chemistry from Mississippi University in 2022.

She's worked with animals in various capacities since 2020, including as a NOAA Fisheries Observer, a Wildlife/Waterfowl Technician, and a Medical Clinic Intern at The Center for Birds of Prey (SC). She joined VCA Liberty Animal Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama in 2024, shortly before moving to NH and transferring to VCA Wakefield.

Allyn plans to go on to veterinary school, and she hopes to eventually work with wildlife. In the meantime, she's working to become a certified veterinary technician with our support.

Allyn's favorite things about working at VCA Wakefield are the people here and the variety of animals we see. She enjoys the team she gets to spend her days with, and she loves that we get to see some really cool animals that most clinics do not see.

Allyn lives in New Hampshire with her husband and rescue kitties Meraki and Un Ojo (pictured). Meraki was found in a barn in Mississippi as a very small kitten, and Allyn had planned to foster her temporarily. We know how that ended. Un Ojo was part of a severe neglect and hoarding case in Florida when he was rescued and had to have his eye removed. The rescue was having difficulty placing him, and so he became another perfect addition. Allyn has previously owned other cats, dogs, ducks, goats, chickens, fish, and horses.

When she's not working, Allyn enjoys being outside on nice days and reading or watching movies on rainy days. Her time outdoors is spent hiking, trail biking, surfing, kayaking, and riding horses. Any day on the back of a horse is a good day, rain or shine.
