Xarifa (pronounced SHER-eef-ah) joined us in 2009 after working with animals for many years at other animal hospitals, several barns, and the Animal Rescue League of Boston. She attended college in Dublin and earned her National Diploma in Animal Care from Sparsholt College Hampshire, Winchester, Great Britain in 1994. Originally from Ireland, she relocated to the United States after completing school.
When she's not working, Xarifa enjoys travel, restaurants, and spending time with her family and pets. She really likes the people she works with, and she loves seeing and feeling connected to all the animals here.
Xarifa and her son live north of Boston with a menagerie that includes a mixed-breed dog named Jade and four cats named Lucy Lu, Luna, Corey, and Chippy. She's pictured here with her horse, Gracie, who is forever in her heart.
