David Proulx
Medical Director DVM, MSpVM, DACVR/RO, DACVIM (Oncology)
As both the medical director of VCA CVS Carlsbad hospital and the head of radiation oncology for VCA California Veterinary Specialists (CVS), Dr. Proulx is also a board member of the VCA Pet CancerCare Alliance, a network of VCA board-certified oncologists from across North America, and the former Angel Care Cancer Center at California Veterinary Specialists (CVS).

His areas of expertise within oncology include both medical and radiation oncology. Prior to joining CVS, Dr. Proulx completed a small animal internship at North Carolina State University. After finishing a medical oncology residency in 2003 and a radiation oncology residency in 2005, also at North Carolina State University, he earned board certification as a specialist in medical oncology and radiation oncology. During this training, Dr. Proulx also received a Master’s Degree in Specialized Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Proulx earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Tufts University. He held a Bachelor of Science from Tufts University and lived in Kenya for two years as a Fulbright Scholar.
