Valerie B.
Registered Veterinary Surgery Technician

Valerie, a proud Colorado native, brings genuine love and compassion to every patient she encounters at VCA Centennial Valley Animal Hospital. With a heart as big as the Rocky Mountains, she treats each furry friend as if they were her own family member, especially the "spicy" ones!

Valerie's affinity for spicy patients stems from her empathetic nature, allowing her to understand their needs and make their veterinary experience as comfortable as possible. After graduating from The Bel Rea Institute of Animal Technology in 2015, she found her passion in anesthesiology and quickly made it her specialty.

With extensive surgical experience gained from her time in emergency medicine and working alongside orthopedic surgeons, Valerie is a trusted expert in her field. But her dedication doesn't stop there. One of her favorite aspects of veterinary medicine is nurturing and mentoring the next generation of skilled and empathetic professionals, ensuring the industry continues to thrive.

Valerie believes that medicine is a constant commitment to continuous learning and growth, and she thrives on the excitement and challenges it brings. When she's not in the hospital, you can find her exploring the great outdoors through hiking, snowboarding, or paddling on a SUP. She also enjoys letting her creativity flow in her art room and taking care of her three fur kids:

  • Hazel: At 15 years old, Hazel is a ChiWeenie and a shining example of the benefits of preventative medicine for a pet's longevity.
  • Persephone: A spicy torti purrito, Persephone is Potat's twin and adds a dash of mischief to the household.
  • Potat: The baby of the household and Persephone's twin, Potat brings endless joy and laughter to Valerie's life.

Valerie's dedication to her patients, her passion for teaching, and her zest for life make her an invaluable member of the VCA Centennial Valley family. Join her in the journey of compassionate care and continuous growth!
