Dr. Mabel grew up in Orlando, Florida. Her love for animals started at eight years old, when she attended Girl Scout summer camp, there she was able to ride horses for the first time. She later went on to join 4-H, Pony Club and Area III Young Riders. These early experiences started a lifelong passion of caring for animals.

Dr. Mabel graduated with a Bachelor of Animal Science from the University of Florida, a Master of Science in Medicine from the University of South Florida, and then went on to become a Spartan, receiving her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University. Her passions in medicine include pain management for elderly pets, feline medicine, and dentistry. When not at work, Dr. Mabel enjoys spending time gardening, riding horses and painting. She shares her life with her husband Brett, two daughters, Cat and Alexis, as well as their two horses and four cats.
