Dr. Valerie Whalen is originally from Massachusetts, then traveled up and down the east coast, graduating from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor's degree in chemistry and the University of Maryland with a Master's in chemistry before pursuing a veterinary career. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech in 2006. Dr. Whalen enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, and is especially interested in emergency and internal medicine. She enjoys mentoring new doctors and technicians. While not at work, Dr. Whalen enjoys spending time with her husband, twin boys, two Labrador Retrievers named Ryder and Gracie, and cat, Stormy.
