Dr. Heather Peterson is originally from the Reno area and returned home following graduation. She attended University of Nevada, Reno for her undergraduate degree. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Iowa State University in 2025. Her interests range from small ruminant medicine to small animal soft tissue surgery. Dr. Peterson is also interested in diagnostic ultrasound and has a growing interest in dermatology.
Her hobbies outside of the hospital include raising and showing dairy goats, hiking and roadtripping through the Pacific Northwest, and spending time at Tahoe and the Truckee river. When she is not at the hospital, Dr. Peterson spends her free time with her partner, Michael and their two dogs, Ellie and Flynn! She looks forward to meeting new and familiar faces from the Northern Nevada area!
