Dr. Bowman was born and raised in Atlantic, Iowa where her family had a farm. "I loved working with and being around the numerous animals on our farm." Says Dr. Bowman. "I particularly enjoyed caring for those who needed a little help…I was always the one trying to save the runts of the litter." Following her passion for caring for animals, Dr. Bowman attended the University of Missouri and Oregon State University where she received a bachelor's degree in biology with an emphasis in marine science. She went on to receive her Veterinary degree from Iowa State University. In addition, she also earned a Masters degree in Public Health from the University of Iowa. 

When not busy at the clinic with her patients, Dr. Bowman enjoys spending time with her husband and four children. "We love watching football, and always cheer on my alma mater schools!" she says. "We are also HUGE Green Bay Packers fans!" At home, she has two pets of her own – Ranger, an 8-year old Chinhuahua who has never met a stranger…and Dottie, a 6-year old Dachshund who 'reluctantly' shares half of her bed with Ranger.
