Team Spotlight
Dr. Knighton obtained her degree from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2014. Prior to VCA, Dr. Knighton practiced in a high-volume, small animal general private practice just outside of Nashville, Tennessee. She and her family relocated to Louisville in December 2018 and began practicing at VCA Shelden in March 2019. Dr. Knighton became Medical Director of VCA Shelden in 2020. Dr. Knighton has enjoyed developing her fear free skills and continues to develop new and lasting relationships with clients and their pets!

I started working in the veterinary field over 30 years ago. I left to raise my children but returned a few years later. It's exciting to watch veterinary medicine change and grow, and I enjoy helping shape this practice to reflect our high standards of care and our love of pets. I especially love meeting new puppies and kittens, and watching the bond grow between pets and their families!
