Dr. Senta Hutchinson, a native of New York, graduated from Columbia University with a B.A. degree in African-American Studies and Ethnomusicology. She continued her education at the University of Wisconsin-School of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. She completed an internship in surgery, emergency and internal medicine at VCA Emergency Animal Hospital & Referral Center in San Diego in 2008 and has been practicing emergency medicine ever since (including 12 years of overnight emergency). Dr. Hutchinson has a special interest in cardiorespiratory diseases, wound repair/care and toxicities.
Dr. Hutchinson has a full house with her sweet little dogs, Darla and Bowie, and her cool cats, Squirrel, Banksy and Noah. In her free time, she fancies herself an arts and craftswoman, primarily working with stained glass, mosaic tile and polymer clay. When not working on various art projects, she enjoys long walks, practicing yoga, travel and an eclectic mix of film and music.
