CHANGES TO VCA ARBORETUM VIEW'S EMERGENCY AND CRITICAL CARE SERVICES
Starting January 4, 2021, our emergency service will be closed from 5:00 AM - 9:00 AM.
New Temporary Emergency Hours:
Monday-Sunday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 AM
The change in hours will not affect our intensive care unit and specialty services. A veterinarian will still be on-site 24/7 to care for all hospitalized patients.
We understand that this temporary closure is an inconvenience, but protecting our team's health and well-being, our clients, and the community remains our priority.
If your pet does have a life-threatening condition, we advise you to seek care at an emergency facility.

Betty Wood received her degree as a Veterinary Technician from Parkland College in 1982. Since that time she has worked in general practice medicine, shelter medicine, and several veterinary specialties that include Surgery, Internal Medicine, Oncology, Emergency and Critical Care, and Integrative Medicine. It was in Integrative Medicine that Betty discovered a passion for rehabilitation. Betty received certification as a Veterinary Rehabilitation and Massage Therapist from the Healing Oasis Wellness Center in 2012. While helping patients recover from orthopedic or spinal surgery is fulfilling, Betty says her favorite patients to help are the older dogs that struggle with arthritis, and weight management. Seeing these pets get a new lease of life is the reason she got into rehabilitation.
Betty lives in the suburbs, near her two sons and her grandchildren. She shares her home with three cats and a Border Collie named Asher. She enjoys spending time with her family, cycling, and hiking nearby trails with Asher. Once or twice a year, Betty and Asher hit the road to explore a National Park.
