Betty Wood received her degree as a Veterinary Technician from Parkland College in 1982. Since that time she has worked in general practice medicine, shelter medicine, and several veterinary specialties that include Surgery, Internal Medicine, Oncology, Emergency and Critical Care, and Integrative Medicine. It was in Integrative Medicine that Betty discovered a passion for Rehabilitation. Betty received certification as a Veterinary Rehabilitation and Massage Therapist from the Healing Oasis Wellness Center in 2012.
Betty provides Rehabilitation services as part of our Specialty Surgery practice, as the Surgery Medical Care Coordinator. She provides post- operative therapeutic laser, ongoing laser therapy for wounds and soft tissue injuries, as well as developing customized home exercise plans for post orthopedic patients.
Betty lives in the suburbs, near her two sons and her grandchildren. She shares her home with her border collie named Asher. She enjoys attending White Sox games, spending time with her family, cycling, kayaking, and hiking nearby trails with Asher. Several times a year, Betty and Asher hit the road to explore a National Park.
