Lorena Gutierrez, DVM, joined the VCA Bent Tree Animal Hospital family in June 2020. A Dallas native, Dr. Gutierrez has worked in the veterinary field for many years as a veterinary assistant, technician and now, a veterinarian. She is a first generation college graduate and the first doctor in her family, earning her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University. Dr. Gutierrez is a member of the Texas Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Animal Hospital Association. 

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, writing and drawing. She also loves spending time with her family. Dr. Gutierrez is bilingual and has loved working with not only cats and dogs, but also exotic companions.
