Rica S. Kimball, DVM, has been with VCA Bent Tree Animal Hospital since October of 2006. She was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, where most of her family still lives. She earned her veterinary degree from Colorado State University in 2001, and then completed a one-year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Mesa Veterinary Hospital in Arizona. Prior to attending veterinary school, she received her Bachelor of Arts in chemistry from Carleton College in Minnesota, and spent 2 years in Ghana, West Africa, as a volunteer for the U.S. Peace Corps. She is a member of the Texas Veterinary Medical Association, American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Animal Hospital Association.
In her free time, she enjoys crossword puzzles, sappy romantic movies, wine tasting, and hiking. She is the mom of four cats, River, Scout, Trouble and Willow. Her husband Luke is a philosophy professor at Southern Methodist University.
