Dr. Hopper grew up near Princeton, New Jersey and received his bachelor's degree in biology at Muhlenberg College in Allentown Pennsylvania. Dr. Hopper has always enjoyed working with animals including studying abroad in Tanzania, working at the Philadelphia Zoo, and serving as a technician at a specialty hospital in New Jersey. Dr. Hopper obtained his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation Dr. Hopper pursued internships at Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine on Virginia Tech's Campus, University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Kansas State University.
Dr. Hopper's main interest is providing the best care for his patients and creating strong connections with his patients and their owners to form a strong team to maintain healthy pets. Dr. Hopper also has some advanced training in ophthalmology. While not a specialist he has comfort performing some more advanced procedures and providing care for patients with eye-related conditions.
Outside the hospital, Dr. Hopper enjoys playing volleyball on the beach or indoors, watching his favorite sports teams, going to the gym, reading books in his hammock, and exploring the city's food and entertainment scene with his wife.
